Oil is an important fluid for your engine. Without oil, the engine will not be sufficiently lubricated internally and metal-to-metal contact will occur, resulting in wear. You want to prevent this and you are responsible for this yourself. Almost every car uses a little oil. That is why you should regularly check the oil level, so that you will not be faced with unpleasant surprises.
Have you noticed that the oil is not at the right level? Then you can top up the oil yourself. How do you top up oil? This is a simple job. It is important to have the correct oil at hand when topping up the oil. So take a good look at which motor oil is suitable for your car! If you are going to top up the oil, you must first loosen the oil filler cap. Often there is a symbol on it so that you cannot be mistaken. It is advisable to use a funnel, but you can also do without it. To find out how much oil needs to be topped up, it is important to know how the dipstick works exactly.
How much oil dipstick?
A dipstick is designed to read the oil level, also known as the oil level. This way you always know whether the oil is at the level. Is there less oil in it than the minimum? Then you have to fill some oil yourself to get it back up to standard. The oil should never exceed the highest mark. The difference between minimum and maximum is on average one liter of engine oil. This is good to know, so that you can better estimate how much oil needs to be topped up.
Do you want to check the oil level? Then first clean the dipstick with an old cloth and screw the dipstick back on. Then you remove the dipstick and you can read the level.
Once the amount of oil has been topped up, it is good to wait a few minutes to run in the engine. You can then check the oil level again yourself. Not up to scratch yet? Then add some extra engine oil. Make sure that the maximum is never exceeded. Too much engine oil is dangerous for the engine!
